NEW! Ascension Mass – Please join us online for our next virtual school mass, tomorrow’s Feast of the Ascension at 10:00 AM. You can view the mass live on the school’s Facebook page HERE.
NEW! THIS WEEK! Food Collection Drive Service Project – As a result of the pandemic, the shelves at several local food pantries and food banks are low! In response to that need, 6th grade student Shea Hansen has offered to do a Food Collection Drive this Friday, May 22 from 11:15 AM to 12:30 PM in our back parking lot. All donations will go to either Milford Share or Corpus Christi Food Pantry. Please see the flyer from Shea HERE!
NEW! Memorial Day – Don’t forget that this coming Monday, May 25, is Memorial Day and a day off from remote learning for our students!
NEW! Field Day – We are soooo sad that our annual Field Day, scheduled for this Friday, had to be canceled due to the pandemic….but fear not, we are planning a virtual event for next Friday, May 29! Stay tuned for more information soon!
NEW! Tech Tip from Mrs. Litch - Did you know that you can check easily to see how your student is doing in each of his/her classes? Simply go to one of their classrooms and look on the STREAM tab and you will see UPCOMING assignments (see Figure 1). Beneath this, click on the words VIEW ALL and you will see all their remote learning assignments, along with their status and/or grade (see Figure 2) Ask your student to show you!
UPDATED! End of the School Year - Remote learning for this school year will officially end for Pre-K, Kindergarten and 6th grade students Friday, June 5. Grades 1 through 5 will end their remote learning at noon on Thursday, June 11! Printed report cards for the year will be sent through the postal service shortly after the 11th. We will send parents an email when they are in the mail.
End of Year Item Pick-up/Drop-off at School - As everyone knows, our departure on the last day in the building was rather unexpected and many students left items behind...and, at the same time, many students have our textbooks at home for their studies! In order to facilitate an “exchange” of these valuable materials, we have set up an End of the Year Item Pick-up/Drop-off for the last week of school, June 8 through 11! Parents are asked to sign up at the Sign-Up Genius HERE to visit the school and return all school textbooks and library books, as well as pick up any remaining student items from the classrooms!
To ensure social distancing, we have set up the schedule to limit the number of people in the building at one time. Teachers will have gathered all students' items in bags in their classroom and parents should leave all textbooks on the desks as indicated in the classroom. Library books can be dropped in the Library Book Return outside the library.
*Note: All basketball and cheerleading uniforms must also be returned at the end of the school year! We will have labeled boxes in the lobby for the uniforms. Thanks!
Please be sure that you arrive and depart within the 15 minute period you select. This will help us keep everyone safe and healthy! Thank you for your help with this!
NEW! Summer Skills Workbooks – Worried that your child will have a "summer slide" and forget all that he or she has learned this year? Worry not! Order a Summer Skills workbook to keep your child on grade over the summer and help him or her hit the ground running this Fall! Click HERE to order!
New Student Recruitment – Do you have a friend or family member who is interested in Saint Christopher Academy for the Fall? Luckily, our application is completely online and we are accepting students remotely! Prospective families are encouraged to check out the website, email us at [email protected], and apply online HERE! Please pass the word!
NEW! Back to School Dates – While many decisions are still being made about how we will be allowed to come back to school in the Fall, we can share that we have determined the important dates for your back-to-school calendar! We have scheduled our annual Meet the Teacher event for all students on Monday, August 31 and the first day of school for all students will take place on Tuesday, September 1. We will be in touch with more dates and arrangements when they are confirmed!
Keep those photos coming! Help us stay in touch! We miss our kids and love seeing them as they work and play at home! We enjoy sharing them on our Facebook and Instagram pages, too…it’s a great way to show that we are still a strong community even though we are learning at home! Please send photos and videos to either your student’s teacher or Marta at [email protected]. Thank you!
St. Chris Live – Have you checked out St. Chris Live? Fr. David is doing a daily live Facebook video, Monday through Thursday at noon, from the parish and school! Tune in for reflections, trivia, humor, and prayer, all delivered Fr. David style! You don’t need to be on Facebook to view, simply tune in HERE at noon!
