Upcoming NO School Days and Early Releases -- Don’t forget that our October calendar has several upcoming No School Days!
TOMORROW! October 2 - This is a No School Day for faculty professional development.
October 12 - This is a No School Day in commemoration of Columbus Day.
Early Release Day Change - Our October calendar also lists an Early Release Day for October 9….please note that this has been changed to October 16 to accommodate the availability of instructors for important faculty professional development. Both campuses will be released at 12:00 PM. No lunch will be served at either campus and there will be no After Care.
NEW! Early Release Hot Lunch -- Since we are moving our Early Release day from October 9 to October 16, Only Catering has kindly agreed to move our Hot Lunch for the day also. Therefore, if you ordered delicious Mac and Cheese for your student on the 16th, he or she will now receive it on the 9th! And, of course, there will be no Hot Lunch service on the 16th.
Hot Lunch Underway -- Our Hot Lunch service is underway! Many thanks to our staff members at both campuses who are serving as “lunch ladies” in the absence of parent volunteers! Just a friendly reminder that we have lunches available for only those students who have ordered it! If you did not place a Hot Lunch order, your child should continue to bring lunch from home. Please be sure to check your child's Hot Lunch schedule daily. Because our lunches are being provided pre-packaged by our caterer, we will not have extra food available for forgotten lunches. We will continue to have students call parents if they do not have a lunch. Thank you!
NEW! Hot Lunch Ordering -- Hard to believe, but ordering for November’s Hot Lunch is now open on Boonli.com! Please be sure to place your order by midnight on October 15. We can not accept any late orders!
NEW! School Portrait Day -- Picture Day is right around the corner on Wednesday, October 14th! Students should wear their regular school uniforms. Upper campus students should wear their oxford shirts (including ties for boys) as they did for Mass this week.
Remote Learners Remote learners from both campuses are welcome to come to the St. Christopher Parish Church Hall from 8AM - 9AM on October 14th to have their portraits taken as well. (We will begin taking photos of our in-school learners at the lower campus at 9 AM.) We apologize for the inconvenience, but ask our remote learner families to park in the neighborhood and walk to the Church Hall entrance on Cushing Avenue. This is a very busy time of day! Faculty members need to park on Cushing Avenue, and both the school and church parking lots will be in use for drop off and Eucharistic Adoration. Thanks so much for your cooperation!
Retake Day We will let you know our retake date as soon as it is scheduled by Lifetouch.
Online Ordering Although we are sending home Picture Day forms and flyers next week, Lifetouch encourages families to order ahead online to make Picture Day even easier. To do so, please click HERE and you will be directed to Saint Christopher Academy’s ordering page. *Our school’s Picture Day ID: EVT39DKBF
Special Gift Families who purchase a photo package online will receive $30 to spend plus a free 8”x8” photo book from Shutterfly!
NEW! Attendance Email -- Don’t forget that if your child will be absent for the day, please email the lower campus at attendance.lower@saintchrisacademy.org and the upper campus at [email protected]. Please include the reason for your child’s absence. You will receive a call from one of the school nurses to confirm your child’s absence.
NEW! Eucharistic Adoration -- St. Christopher Parish welcomes families to attend the first Friday Eucharistic Adoration at the parish from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Come spend as little or as much time as you'd like in quiet comfort with our Lord!
NEW! First Saturday Mass -- The parish also invites families to attend the new First Saturday Masses in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On the first Saturday of each month, Fr. David will celebrate the mass at 8:00 AM. This Saturday, October 3 will be the first mass. This mass will not include music and will last approximately 30 minutes...a great way to get your weekend started!
Saint Christopher's Parish Pack 253 is looking for new leaders to start K, 1st, and 2nd grade Cub Scouting programs -- Cub Scout Pack 253 is a youth ministry program at Saint Christopher’s Catholic Church, which accepts youth members from both the Saint Christopher’s Parish, Saint Christopher Academy, and the community-at-large. Pack 253 is currently seeking new adults who want to provide a fun and proven character-building program for the youth of Saint Christopher Academy in Grades K, 1, and 2. New adults who join will be guided, trained, and mentored by our existing team of 10 adults, who run existing groups (called Dens) for grades 3, 4, and 5. New adults will also be assisted with starting their own grade and gender-specific Dens and trained on how to execute the proven pre-planned yearly program.
The need for role models who demonstrate by example the benefits of living a life that prioritizes mental, physical, and spiritual well-being, service to others before self, and adherence to a proven set of admired qualities has never been greater. Cub Scouts learn the value of possessing these qualities (being trustworthy, helpful, courteous, and kind) by participating in a series of fun weekly activities where they are encouraged to have fun while being respectful to everyone and their surroundings. Interested new role models/leaders should contact Parishioner Bob Trabucchi, 603-864-9187 or email [email protected] to set up an appointment.
