NEW! Hot Lunch Volunteer Thank You - We can never thank our Hot Lunch volunteers enough! Between the two campuses, we served 38,000 lunches this year! We could not do it without the dedication, hard work, and good humor of all of our Hot Lunch volunteers. Thank you ALL from the bottom of our hearts (and full stomachs!)!!

Gym Tarping Help Thank You -  Boatloads of thanks to the wonderful crew who showed up to help tarp the gym on Monday! They were amazing….got the project done in record time!

Silver Knights Thank You - We had a ball (get it?!) at the Silver Knights game yesterday! Many thanks to all of the parents who attended with us! And special thanks to the Moran family for providing our “cool-off” suite!

 

NEW! Catholic Sacrament Congratulations! Congratulations to all of our students who made Catholic sacraments this spring! Many students were confirmed at local parishes and a few received baptism and/or reconciliation. Congratulations to: Jackson Brock, Madelyn McCarthy, Vanna Muldoon, Emmaline Currid, Jacob Haberman, Lucas Haberman, Daniel Ciardelli, Cameron Richardson, Evelyn Hewitt, Vivian Lawless, and Sage Lawless! We are excited for all of you as you continue your journey in faith!

 

NEW! Upper Campus Artwork - Looking for your upper campus student’s art work from throughout the year? Mrs. Fessenden has some beautiful work that’s been left behind by our forgetful students! You can find all artwork in boxes by grade in the cafeteria. Please remind your student to pick up his or her work!

NEW! Summer Office Hours - We’ll be here if you need us this summer! The school offices on both campuses will be open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Thursday! You can also call or email any of the school admin team on either campus and we’ll get back to you as promptly as possible!

 

NEW! Used Uniform Closets - Have your kids outgrown their uniforms? Don’t forget that we have a used uniform closet at each campus! Donations of all outgrown uniform pieces are accepted and parents are also welcome to make an appointment to come in over the summer to look for uniform pieces to fit their growing children. Donations can be sent into the front desk at the lower campus or to Mrs. Coker at the upper campus at any time. Please contact Mrs. Langengeld at [email protected] for the lower campus or Mrs. Coker at [email protected] for the upper campus to arrange a time to come “shopping” in the closets!

 

Lower Campus Cross Country Sign Ups - Calling all runners! Sign ups are now open for students who will be in 2nd - 5th grade this fall by clicking HERE. THIS WEEK! Nashua Bus Transportation for Fall 2024 - To be eligible for bus transportation, students must live in the City of Nashua and must be in grades kindergarten thru 8.  Students at the lower campus must live at least a mile or more from the school.  Upper campus students must live at least two miles or more from the school. If you anticipate that your child will be needing bus transportation in Nashua at any time in the next year, please complete the confirmation form HERE. The deadline for registration is THIS Friday, June 7.

 

NEW! FIRST Lego League - Saint Chris is exploring the possibility of fielding a FIRST Lego League (FLL) team in the fall for students in grades 4 to 8! For those not familiar with FLL, the organization explains that “FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together.” If your son or daughter is interested in FLL….or if you are interested in coaching…please complete the Google form HERE!

 

Summer Girls Volleyball Clinics – Volleyball clinics are open to any girl who will be entering grades 6-8 in the fall and will be taking place Tuesday nights throughout the summer months! Clinics get underway on June 18 from 4:30-6:30 PM, and will continue through August 13 (no clinic on Tuesday 7/30). Sessions will focus on skill building, serving, setting, hitting, passing, conditioning, and other volleyball specific skills, all while having a ton of fun with future classmates! Summer Boys Basketball League - It is that time of year again where we look to kick off our boys summer basketball league. This year our summer league will be hosted at the NH Sportsplex in Bedford, NH. This league is open to all boys entering grades 6-8 in the fall, but is limited to only 12 players. Priority placement will be given to players who were on varsity last year, and then to those who were on the JV team. Summer league will begin Monday, June 17 and teams will get a minimum of 10 games. The fee is $110 per player, and a game shirt is included in that price.  Sign Up For Summer Basketball League Here.

 

Deadline THIS WEEK! Parent Survey Reminder - All parents were emailed a link to our end-of-the-year survey on Thursday, May 9. Please take the time to complete the survey…your feedback is important and of great value as we plan for the 2024-2025 school year!  The survey will remain open until 11:45 pm on June 7 and is completely confidential. Each campus has a separate survey, so please refer to your May 9 email. The deadline for submitting the survey is THIS Friday, June 7. Thank you for your help!

 

Summerbook Workbooks – A copy of the catalog of Summer Books was sent home several weeks ago with students in grades Pre-K through 5.  Summer Books offer a 10-week summer review for students entering Kindergarten through Grade 8.  Books may be ordered individually by phone, online HERE or by mail.  Please do not send order forms into school. Saint Chris strongly recommends that students complete summer work in addition to summer reading assignments!  

UC Girls Summer Basketball Workouts - This summer the upper campus girls basketball program will have skills sessions on Monday nights from 5:00-7:00 pm. They will begin on June 17 and continue each Monday night throughout the summer, concluding on August 19. The only exceptions will be Monday, July 8 and August 5. The cost will be $150 for the entire summer or $25 for each individual session. Any Upper Campus girls and incoming sixth graders interested in playing next year are invited.   • 7:00 PM - 8th grade Graduation at the upper campus

Tuesday, June 11

  • Grade 5 last day of school - 5th grade released at noon (Reminder…no bus transportation is available for 5th grade early dismissal. Please arrange for transportation!)
  • 5:30 PM - 5th grade Convocation at upper campus (students gather at lower campus at 4:40 PM)

Wednesday , June 12

  • Early Release and final day of school for grades PreK to 4, 6 & 7

 

Back to School Dates - Speaking of important dates, we have some important notes about back-to-school for Fall 2025! If you are booking summer vacations or other plans, please keep these important dates in mind: 

PreK and Kindergarten Playground Days - The lower campus playground will be open for all PreK and Kdg students and their parents for three Mondays in August (5, 12,and 19) from 9:00-10:00 AM. Come on down! This is a great time for the kids...and parents....to make important connections with friends before the school year begins!

 

Monday, August 26 – 

  • First day of school for 6th grade students ONLY. This will be a half day for 6th grade students. More details will be sent to 6th grade parents later in the summer.
  • Lower campus Meet the Teacher from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Class lists will be posted in the school lobby that day.

 

Tuesday, August 27 - First day of school for all students on both campuses. (2nd day of school for grade 6.) Students should be in full school uniform.

 

Friday, August 30 and Monday, September 2 - No School…Labor Day Weekend

 

Upcoming School Masses - All parents are invited to attend our weekly school masses! Parents must enter through the front door of each campus facility, sign in, and receive a nametag to attend. All masses are at 9:45 AM on both campuses unless otherwise noted. The schedule for the next month is:

June 10 - Final Lower Campus Mass

St. Chris BBQ Planning Meeting - Are you looking for a fun way to get involved in parish life? Look no further. St. Christopher’s is planning its 2nd Parish BBQ this coming fall and we are looking for some folks to help with the planning. 

If you are interested in helping and or being on the planning committee we will be meeting in the Pennell Center, at St. Christopher’s on Monday, July 8 at 7:00 PM  and would love for you to join us!!

COMMUNITY NEWS 

NEW! Happy Hearts Day Care - Happy Hearts Day Care, located at 12 Cushing Ave, will have three openings in the fall, for before and after care. The hours are 6:30 to 8:30 AM and 3:00 to 5:30 PM. We accommodate on snow days, two hour delays, early release, no school days (except for the major holidays) and even if there is a power outage.  They  also provide care on the Christmas, February and April vacation weeks. NEW! Drone Camp - Students in grade 9 (in the fall) and up are invited to participate in Drone Camp 2024:Technology & Ethics of AI and Robotics at Saint Anselm College. The camp takes place from July 7-13 and is designed to to engage high school students in the world of drone technology while exploring the ethical challenges that arise with advancements in AI and robotics. Peacock Players Summer Camp - Registration for the Peacock Players Summer Theatre Camp for grades K-9  is now open! The Peacock Players is proud to provide students with theatre arts education that encourages, informs, and challenges its students. Our goal is to build a fun, safe, and creative space for kids to explore the performing arts in Nashua and to grow the next generation of Peacock Players performers.
