MORE! Catholic Sacrament Congratulations! We have some additional congratulations to extend to students who made a Catholic sacrament recently: Luke Gill and Kaylie Hidalgo both received the sacrament of Confirmation this past week!  We are excited for all of you as you continue your journey in faith!

 

NEW! Track and Field Congratulations - Kudos to upper campus students Max Frasca, Sam Nardone, Cameron Sydow, and Ashton Gregoire for recently breaking the school record for the 4x100 relay! The previous record, set in 2003, was 51.43 seconds. Our dynamic quad set the new record at 50.98 seconds….hooray!

 

NEW! Skating Congratulations - We’d also like to extend congratulations to Ella McAffee for her 2nd place finish in the Boston Open U.S. Figure Skating competition. Competing against more than 300 skaters in her division, Ella qualified for the National competition in July!

 

NEW! 2024-2025 School Supply List and Summer Assignments - No rest for the weary (or the savvy shoppers!)….the school supply list for the lower campus for the 2024-2025 school year AND the summer assignments for both campuses have been posted on the website! NEW! Yearbooks - Students who ordered yearbooks received them this week. Because many important events occur after the yearbook printing deadline, we will be creating an electronic supplement featuring spring sports and end-of-year events. This supplement will be suitable for printing and will be emailed to parents over the summer months. For any questions regarding yearbooks, please email Carol Fiore at [email protected]. 

 

NEW! First Tuition Payment Reminder - Please remember that the first tuition payment for the 2024-2025 school year will be automatically charged during the month of July based on the tuition payment schedule you selected when enrolling your child. After July 1, all families are responsible for tuition charges as outlined in the Tuition Agreement included in the enrollment packet. If your plans for the fall have changed and your child will not be returning, you must notify Enrollment Coordinator Lorrice Bedard at [email protected] or 603-882-7442, ext. 310 by June 30. All financial questions can be directed to Business Manager Shauna Hein at [email protected] or 603-882-7442, ext. 212.

 

NEW! FACTS Incidental Billing Issues - We have been informed by FACTS that recent changes to Incidental Billing that are affecting some of our parent accounts:

  • Some families of students who will be in grades 6-8 this fall  have not yet been charged for the summer math workbook. Those charges will be billed shortly.
  • In addition, some families may find that their preferred method of payment or account for Incidental Billing did not roll over from the current school year into next year. All families should check their Incidental Billing to be sure that the preferred account is listed for the 2024-2025 school year.

NEW! Volunteering at Saint Chris - Are you planning on volunteering at Saint Chris this coming school year? Get a jump on things by completing the Safe Environment Training now! All volunteers are required to complete the training prior to ANY volunteer opportunities, including Hot Lunch, field trips, class projects and activities, etc. To complete the training, please see the Diocesan information HERE. Before and After Care Billing - Please note that Before and After Care will be billed weekly for the first two weeks of June through Incidental Billing!

 

Summer Office Hours - We’ll be here if you need us this summer! The school offices on both campuses will be open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Thursday! You can also call or email any of the school admin team on either campus and we’ll get back to you as promptly as possible!

 

Used Uniform Closets - Have your kids outgrown their uniforms? Don’t forget that we have a used uniform closet at each campus! Donations of all outgrown uniform pieces are accepted and parents are also welcome to make an appointment to come in over the summer to look for uniform pieces to fit their growing children. Donations can be sent into the front desk at the lower campus or to Mrs. Coker at the upper campus at any time. Please contact Mrs. Langengeld at [email protected] for the lower campus or Mrs. Coker at [email protected] for the upper campus to arrange a time to come “shopping” in the closets!

 

Lower Campus Cross Country Sign Ups - Calling all runners! Sign ups are now open for students who will be in 2nd - 5th grade this fall by clicking HERE. Summer Girls Volleyball Clinics – Volleyball clinics are open to any girl who will be entering grades 6-8 in the fall and will be taking place Tuesday nights throughout the summer months! Clinics get underway on June 18 from 4:30-6:30 PM, and will continue through August 13 (no clinic on Tuesday 7/30). Sessions will focus on skill building, serving, setting, hitting, passing, conditioning, and other volleyball specific skills, all while having a ton of fun with future classmates! Summer Boys Basketball League - It is that time of year again where we look to kick off our boys summer basketball league. This year our summer league will be hosted at the NH Sportsplex in Bedford, NH. This league is open to all boys entering grades 6-8 in the fall, but is limited to only 12 players. Priority placement will be given to players who were on varsity last year, and then to those who were on the JV team. Summer league will begin Monday, June 17 and teams will get a minimum of 10 games. The fee is $110 per player, and a game shirt is included in that price.  Sign Up For Summer Basketball League Here.

 

Summerbook Workbooks – A copy of the catalog of Summer Books was sent home several weeks ago with students in grades Pre-K through 5.  Summer Books offer a 10-week summer review for students entering Kindergarten through Grade 8.  Books may be ordered individually by phone, online HERE or by mail.  Please do not send order forms into school. Saint Chris strongly recommends that students complete summer work in addition to summer reading assignments!  

UC Girls Summer Basketball Workouts - This summer the upper campus girls basketball program will have skills sessions on Monday nights from 5:00-7:00 pm. They will begin on June 17 and continue each Monday night throughout the summer, concluding on August 19. The only exceptions will be Monday, July 8 and August 5. The cost will be $150 for the entire summer or $25 for each individual session. Any Upper Campus girls and incoming sixth graders interested in playing next year are invited. Back to School Dates - 

PreK and Kindergarten Playground Days - The lower campus playground will be open for all PreK and Kdg students and their parents for three Mondays in August (5, 12,and 19) from 9:00-10:00 AM. Come on down! This is a great time for the kids...and parents....to make important connections with friends before the school year begins!

 

Monday, August 26 – 

  • First day of school for 6th grade students ONLY. This will be a half day for 6th grade students. More details will be sent to 6th grade parents later in the summer.
  • Lower campus Meet the Teacher from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Class lists will be posted in the school lobby that day.

 

Tuesday, August 27 - First day of school for all students on both campuses. (2nd day of school for grade 6.) Students should be in full school uniform.

 

Friday, August 30 and Monday, September 2 - No School…Labor Day Weekend

BBQ Planning 

St. Chris BBQ Planning Meeting - Are you looking for a fun way to get involved in parish life? Look no further. St. Christopher’s is planning its 2nd Parish BBQ this coming fall and we are looking for some folks to help with the planning. 

If you are interested in helping and or being on the planning committee we will be meeting in the Pennell Center, at St. Christopher’s on Monday, July 8 at 7:00 PM  and would love for you to join us!!

St. Chris Vacation Bible School - Students entering grades kindergarten, through 5 are invited to attend St. Christopher Parish’s Vacation Bible School on July 29 to August 2!

 

 

COMMUNITY NEWS 

Happy Hearts Day Care - Happy Hearts Day Care, located at 12 Cushing Ave, will have three openings in the fall, for before and after care. The hours are 6:30 to 8:30 AM and 3:00 to 5:30 PM. We accommodate on snow days, two hour delays, early release, no school days (except for the major holidays) and even if there is a power outage.  They  also provide care on the Christmas, February and April vacation weeks. Drone Camp - Students in grade 9 (in the fall) and up are invited to participate in Drone Camp 2024:Technology & Ethics of AI and Robotics at Saint Anselm College. The camp takes place from July 7-13 and is designed to to engage high school students in the world of drone technology while exploring the ethical challenges that arise with advancements in AI and robotics. Peacock Players Summer Camp - Registration for the Peacock Players Summer Theatre Camp for grades K-9  is now open! The Peacock Players is proud to provide students with theatre arts education that encourages, informs, and challenges its students. Our goal is to build a fun, safe, and creative space for kids to explore the performing arts in Nashua and to grow the next generation of Peacock Players performers.
